Design and development of RF & microwave circuits, including areas such as PLL, synthesizer, oscillator, up/down convertor, mixer (X-band to IF), low noise amplifier (LNA), power amplifier (PA), auto-gain control (AGC) amplifier, distributed lump-element filters, I/Q modulator demodulator, A/D and D/A convertor for interface to baseband.

 Required Detailed Technical Skills:

  • Experience in board-level design of RF & microwave circuits, including areas such as PLL synthesizer/oscillator design, up/down convertor/mixer design (X-band to IF), low noise amplifier (LNA)/power amplifier (PA)/auto-gain control (AGC) amplifier, distributed/lump-element filters, I/Q modulator/demodulator, A/D and D/A convertor for interface to baseband.  Working knowledge of digital and voltage-regulation circuit is a plus.
  • We are looking for an engineer who is challenged by design of RF microwave circuits using active components and low cost printed circuit board techniques. The selected candidate will be responsible for a programmable transceiver that interfaces with a modem and a phased array antenna.
  • Must have extensive hands-on experience with the use of electronic design automation and electromagnetic simulation tools such as Altium, ADS/Momentum or HFSS. Direct experience with MATLAB.
  • Must have extensive hands-on experience with RF/microwave measurement and test equipments, such as vector network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, power meter/sensor, signal/waveform generator, oscilloscope, logic analyzer. Strong laboratory/field testing, debugging and analytical skills are essential.
  • Candidate must be experienced in RF Microwave board fabrication techniques to review and critique layouts and stack-ups. Work with the fabrication vendors to get quality boards built, and assembled.
  • Familiarity with the design of beam steering circuitry for applications in smart/phased array antennas.
  • Familiarity with RF switching techniques.
  • Engineer must know how to perform system analysis, link budgets, noise budgets, spectrum issues and related signal processing parameters.

 Required People Interface Skills:

  • Ability and desire to work on multiple challenging projects.
  • Require people oriented skills in team participation. Must be able to support and manage their technical capabilities in a peer review environment.
  • Ability to communicate and present/brief technical solutions to peers and customers is required.

This position will be located at our headquarters in Torrance, California. The position will be a growth oriented position with excellent future senior technical or management position opportunities. The selected candidate will be assigned to work on one of our new projects for the US Army.

As a minimum we require a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. A PhD degree is major plus. We are looking for someone with at least 5 years of industry RF design experience. Entry level PhD candidates will be considered if they have directly relevant research and internship experience.

US Permanent Residency is mandatory requirement for this position. US Citizenship is a big plus. We will verify this requirement prior to consideration for this position.
