IP Network Engineer
Alico Systems is
starting a new project to support a mobile satellite network supported by a
network operations center. The network is based on standard IP networking
technology and utilizes a combination of commercial and custom designed
equipment. We are looking for a top notch senior network engineer who can work
in a diverse challenging environment.
Required
Technical Skills:
-
CISCO CCNP certified, CCIE strongly preferred
-
Experience in configuring and testing CISCO routers, switches, firewalls,
LANs, WAN and wireless networks

Expert knowledge of layer 3 protocols OSPF, BGP
-
Expert knowledge of layer 2 protocols
-
Expert knowledge of VLANs, VPNs and IPSEC
-
Expert knowledge of troubleshooting UDP packet streams
-
Strong skills in architecting and configuring multicast networks
-
Understanding of IP satellite networks a major plus
-
Understanding of geographic information systems is helpful
Required Technical
Leadership Skills:
-
Require people oriented skills in team
participation. Previous experience working with large teams a major plus.

Ability to communicate and present/brief
technical solutions is required.
This position will
be located at our project office in Carson, California. The position will be a
growth oriented position with excellent future senior technical or management
position opportunities. The selected candidate will be assigned to work on one
of our existing projects for the US Army.
As a minimum we require a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent. An
MS degree is highly preferable.
A minimum of 5 years of software development experience is required after
Bachelors Degree. Experience can be traded with a Master's degree.
US CITIZENSHIP is mandatory for this position and the candidate must agree to
undergo US Government security clearance procedures which include an extensive
background investigation.
